In The Sandsea, a harsh leadership dynasty known as the Sek-Duats rule the land. Sek Duat XV was so mean and cruel that a rebellion started. Upon going to The Sandsea, you meet one of the rebels, who begs for you to join the rebels and overthrow the Sek Duats’ leadership in return for the location of the Light Orb. Zhoom, a mercenary of Sek Duat who hunts down these rebels encounters you during the conversation, but is praising you for “distracting” the rebel. Now your only hope of having future communications with the rebels is to work with Zhoom, a risky maneuver.

The Hard Way
- Upon talking to Zhoom again, he mentions a rebel by the name of Kasuf. Zhoom needs you to capture him and bring him back alive. Since Kasuf has been constantly been able to escape Zhoom’s grasp, he’s hoping that you can find him.
- Now for the guide. Since the Scar Scarabs have no weakness, take out your most powerful weapon and attack them with that.
- In the next frame, you’ll encounter a Sunspike, which is heavily resistant to Light. If you’re currently using a Light weapon, don’t forget to swap it out for a new one. In addition, don’t forget to avoid using Artix’s holy attack on him, since it will do 0 damage.
- After that frame, there will be another Sunspike. Do the same thing as the last Sunspike, and follow the same rules for attacking it as above.
- Moving up, you’ll see a shining pot. Go up to it to start a conversation with the rebel, Kasuf. You need to escape with him, but Zhoom is the only person who knows the way out, and you can’t show Kasuf to him. You suggest for him to go in your backpack, but Kasuf knows of an alternate route. Of course, it’s guarded by monsters, and there is a door with a puzzle on it.
- Moving on. Your next enemy, the Sandslicer, is resistant to Nature, and does is capable of dealing a lot of damage. Most people probably don’t have any Nature weapons, but if you do, swap out again. It is additionally resistant to Poison, so don’t try poisoning it. After, killing the Star Scarab to move on to the next frame.
- After killing the Sunspike, you’ll have to solve a puzzle with glyphs and scarabs. If you click on a glyph, a scarab will light up. If it doesn’t light up, you got it wrong. You have to guess each glyph, and if you get one wrong, you start over. So if you choose Glyph A and Glyph B, correctly, but then if Glyph C is wrong, you start over, but you still know that the first two glyphs are A and B. Keep trying each glyph. If the timer runs out and you fall for the trap, the combination will be reset.
- When entering the next frame, you will be up against two Scar Scarabs. but the one in the upper-right can be avoided.
- After a coupe frames, you’ll find another glyph puzzle. Follow the same rules as last time to get through.
- Keep moving on through the quest. There wont be any new elements that weren’t described above, so getting through should be a piece of cake.
- Apparently, Kasuf doesn’t know much about the Light Orb, but he knows of a woman who does. To find her, you’ll need to visit the inn with a Blue Lotus.
- Additionally, you now have access to the Ranger armor! This is great for killing the Gate Keeper at the Necropolis, and is my second-favorite armor next to Necromancer.
The Blue Lotus
- Don’t set your dragon’s element to Stone or Wind, or else it will heal some of the monsters that you fight.
- You’ll start off your journey into the desert by fighting a Sandstorm. Use a Stone weapon to take it down.
- If you used a stone weapon, don’t forget to switch to a Wind weapon, because now you’ll be fighting a boulder elemental.
- You’ll need to keep switching weapons throughout the quest, so be weary of what weapons that you’re using.
- I’ve found that the fastest way through the desert is to go (from the initial starting point) left two times, then up 3.
The Oasis Inn
- Now that you have the Blue Lotus, it’s time to go inside the Oasis Inn so you can speak to this mysterious woman. Note that simply going into the inn will not work, you have to talk to Zhoom and select it from the Quest list to speak with the woman.
- You’ll learn that Sha-Rae is Kasuf’s daughter, and that the Light Orb could be being used by Sek Duat to rule the Sandsea.
- I wont give any other spoilers, but since you’re probably at the quest right now, you should know a lot by the end.
- On the way back, you’ll have to kill some desert thugs. While their large amounts of health may be deceiving, they don’t do very much damage, so you shouldn’t have much trouble with them.
- Now, be prepared to go up against the Mumragon.
Dynasty Tomb
- Before starting the quest, remove ALL members of your party. It is OK to keep pets, but unfortunately, you have to get rid of your party members. If you’ve come here trying the figure out how to kill the Mumragon, know that your party members add to health and his general strength. If you need to get rid of your toddler dragon, you have to go back to your character list.
- I strongly recommend using Necromancer for this boss. The Turn ability is perfect against hard-hitting opponents, and the Final ability is perfect for killing the Scar Scarabs at the beginning. Also, make sure to NOT use Paladin on this boss, since he has a heavy resistance to Light damage, and even though you can change your weapon’s element, some of the Paladin’s abilities are always Light damage.
- Skim along the bottom path for the easiest route through the Star Scarabs. While they all have 3 in each row, using the bottom means you probably wont accidentally hit a Star Scarab on a neighboring row.
- In the next frame, I recommend using Turn on the Star Scarabs to regain some of your lost health from the previous wave. (Don’t worry, after this you’ll get a free heal, so try not to waste your potions).
- While it may be tempting to add friends, DON’T (unless you know two people who are incredibly good with a good SAVED setup (don’t invite non-DragonLords, as they can’t save their setup). Of course, it will still be pretty hard even if you invite someone, so I recommend going solo.
- Time to take out your Doom weapon, since this guy is weak to Darkness.
- Use Final, Summon, then Seed to start up your tactics. Remember to always use Turn if you’re on low health, or use a potion if you’re really desperate.
- Mend is also a good choice to use against him. If you’re on low health and you don’t have a defensive maneuver available, use a health potion.
- Remember to always replace a normal attack with a Summon whenever you can to maximize your damage
- Congratulations! You have beat one of the hardest bosses in DragonFable! Can you tackle him in Extreme mode?
Sek Duat’s Invite
- Killing the Mumragon has successfully given you an invitation to Sek Duat’s palace, just like Sha-Rae told you it would. Zhoom informs you of this and tells you to go up to the palace to see what Sek Duat has to say.
- From the main frame of the Sandsea, keep going up until you get to Sek Duat himself.
These next three quests are only accessible from Sek Duat’s palace.
The Sandwitch
- Apparently, a strange witch known as the Sandwitch is causing fear for the people of the Sandsea. Sek Duat needs you to eliminate the Sandwitch to soothe the fears of the people.
- You’ll start the quest with a direct challenge to fight from the Sandwitch. Take out a Water weapon and kill her to move on to the next frame.
- Enter the next frame to find… surprise! Another Sandwitch. Kill her again, then go to the next frame once more.
- Kill the third Sandwitch again to progress to the next frame, which supposedly has the real Sandwitch.
- Through the conversation, you’ll find out more about Sek Duat’s plans, and with that information, you decide to let the Sandwitch live.
The Traitor
- Sek Duat mentions to you of a rebel who wishes to go against the Resistance and serve Sek Duat. Sek Duat wants you to find this person and bring him to the palace immediately.
- Start off by killing the Sandstorm, then move on.
- Kill the next Sandstorm, then progress to the next frame.
- Surprise! Another Sandstorm. Kill it.
- In the next frame you’ll find a completely new, never-before-seen monster: a Sandstorm! Kill it.
- Two more Sandstorms. Kill them to move on.
- You’ll see another Sandstorm, but with a figure behind it. Kill the Sandstorm so you can speak with him.
- After the conversation, you’ll be up against the Anubis Knight. It’s main weakness is Silver, but if you don’t have a Silver weapon, Darkness will work too.
- Anubis isn’t a very hard boss, and you should kill him easily. Just remember to use Health Potions (or Turn) whenever you are on low health. Also remember not to use Paladin, because (just like on the Mumragon) most of the abilities always do Light damage, which means it will have no effect on the Anubis Knight.
- Remember not to use Holy on Anubis, since it wont do any damage.
- Anubis can use a shield, and you’ll know when he does this when he puts his fist up in the air and doesn’t attack. When he does this, so should you, since the shield gives him +80 block.
Zhowdown
- You’ll have to start out immediately by fighting Zhoom. You’ll lose any party members that you already have, but if you have a toddler dragon, it will stay.
- Water is Zhoom’s weak point, so make sure to use just that element against him. He is also strangely resistant to Bacon, but that shouldn’t matter.
- Zhoom doesn’t have a load of health, but he is capable of doing quite some damage. If you’re using Necromancer and you’re low on health, Turn is always a great choice to use. It might not be worth it to use Seed (since it should be a quick battle), but it wont hurt to use it.
- After he’s down, you’ll see that there is much more to this quest than it seems. If you move to the left, and then up, you’ll have access to a potion box. When you get there, drink up your potions, then refill them back up for a free heal. You can come back up anytime, so think of it as a healing pad.
- After you get to the potions box, go back to the starting point and then go in the other direction. Follow up the path and you will find Zhoom again. Use the one-time heal (AKA the glowing pot) and then fight him once more. His weaknesses and resistances are the same as last time, so just follow the same tips as before and you should be fine.
- After you kill him, continue to progress through the quest, destroying any monster in your way. Remember that you can always access the potion box for a free heal whenever you need to.
- You’ll need to fight Zhoom again, but this time there wont be a one-time heal right next to him. If you think you need to have full health and mana to defeat him, go back the potion box to heal.
- At the very end, you’ll have to fight the Sphinxster. Since Zhoom is angry that he’s not getting his payment, he agrees to help the rebels and also help you defeat the Sphinxster.
- The Sphinxster shouldn’t be much of a threat. Just remember to use Turn or a potion whenever you can, and always try to go on offensive when you can.
- Zhoom’s Pet isn’t very good, but the Fire Arrow is great since it costs no mana, therefore you should always use that instead of the normal Attack. Since the Sphinxster has a resistance to light, don’t use his Light Arrow.
Sek Duat Lives Again
- Start off by killing the Sunspikes guarding the entrance to Sek Duat’s throne.
- His throne is a secret entrance! Go inside to find yourself against a slightly less-powerful version of the Anubis Knight.
- There are two more Anubis Knights in the next frame. Kill them to move on. If you’re already on low health after one of the battles, you can always access your potions from your inventory without having to use them in battle.
- Since there are a lot of Anubis Knights that you’ll have to kill, it might be a good idea to use Turn, even though they are relatively weak units.
- Eventually you will encounter Sek Duat, and he will give you the choice: to join him and gain eternal life, or just kill him. If you agree, it will give you an interesting story about what happens afterward (choose it just for the heck of it) and then you will be given the same choice immediately after.
- Now kill him. This time, your party members wont add to his strength, so get as many as you can.
- Sek Duat can attack your party members, so if you don’t care about them, let them die, but if you desperately need them, don’t forget that they have health potions too!
- He is weak to Darkness, so take out your Doom weapon (or whatever Darkness weapon you use) and fight him.
- It is generally a good idea to use Seed in this battle because he has so much health, and because it will probably be a long battle anyways.
Death From Below
- No quest chain is complete without a titan fight. You’ll be up against the Dunelord for this battle. Set your Dragon’s element as Fire or Darkness.
- Start off by making your way through the zombies. To conserve Mana, just use the normal attack on them; you should easily kill them in one hit.
- Sorry, but I don’t have a guide for him… yet. For general dragon strategies, see the Dragon Operations Manual.
Special thanks to $$archie$$ for his Sandsea Plot Sypnosis to refresh my memory about what happened at this zone.

awesome tnx!
use artix cuz he has holy and its very useful!!!!
Well how do you defeat the shpinxster when you are just a warrior and not a special job? because it’s immune to all of Zhoom’s attacks when i tried
Are you sure that your weapon type works against the sphinxster? Check his stats and see if he has a 100 resistance. If he does, then your weapon wont work.
Yeah, for me Zhoom’s attacks aren’t working. I’m using a dark-type weapon… But that doesn’t effect Zhoom, does it?
PS Aegis Kicks butt here, i suggest you invite him ^^ hope i helped
