This week, we get two releases that I wasn’t too excited about. The Birthday quest, which I had read about in the design notes a bit earlier, didn’t seem like it was going to be such a good release. And guess what? I was right! It was almost as boring as Xan Has a Plan. As for the non-DA’s, Aria has some pets that have gone loose in to the forest, and it’s your job to get them back.

Birthday Quest
Some lucky fellow on the forum got mentioned in the Design Notes for a stupid suggestion: birthdays. So AE decided to take his stupid suggestion and make an even worse, and predictable quest. basically, your Dragonlord (they stupidly made this quest DA only, this just shows how much they hate non-members) gets a birthday, and Zorbak gets mad since he wasn’t invited. Now, we all know Zorbak has a history of messing up food (from Mogloween), so it’s pretty obvious what happens next: he turns the food into the same undead monsters from the Necropolis (remember the food quest?), and always makes the presents attack you. The quest moves in a straight line; you just keep going right until you reach the end. The monsters were extremely easy, and the rewards were terrible. It was very easy to tell how little effort AE put into this. Score: 5.5/10

Aria’s Missing Pets
This quest is for free players, and was actually better than the birthday quest! Aria’s pets have gone missing, and she suspects that they hid in the forest for shelter. It’s your job to find the pets and battle through monsters (duh) and then return them to Aria. The quest seemed like a good idea, except that the map seemed awfully familiar (they used the same map from another quest, I think it was one of Lady Celestia’s quests, not sure), and I was confused as to where to go once I collected the five pets. After finally arriving at the beach, which was the destination (nothing told me to go there), I got some house items that cost… gold? I just saved someones pet, and I have to pay for my reward? And they’re useless house items? I wanted some cool weapons or rare pets, not overpriced house items! So, I wasn’t too happy with this one, either, even though it was better than the Birthday Quest. Score: 6.8/10

Since none of these quests were related to any plot, or started any storyline (or at least none that I know of; a birthday storyline sounds stupid and cheesy, anyways), I assume that this is just a filler, and the “Aftermath” quest for the Fire War is gonna be awesome. So with that, here’s the Final Score: 6.15

Sorry I was a bit late for this one, I had an extremely busy weekend and had no time to play this release. This week AE has finally given us the final battle with Drakonnan, which didn’t represent the level of difficulty that I had anticipated. I wanted to see him using the Fire Orb to actually do stuff, not just sit in Drakonnan’s hand. And Zorbak had too much attention for a minor character. Read on for more.

Well, the final battle has commenced between you and Drakonnan. There weren’t many surprises in-quest, and Drakonnan was a bit too easy. The speeches in-battle were stupid, and all of his attacks were more or less the same. I had a harder time with the Gate Keeper than this all-powerful pyromancer with a Fire Orb. An addition of minions to support him would tremendously add the difficulty. A challenge is good, but it can’t be impossible. I didn’t have to use a single health potion, and that generally means it’s too easy. The quest didn’t really seem like a maze either, with all of the prisoners being trapped in the same room, and a small area for the quest overall. AE recycled the old Dispell Orb mechanic from ArchKnight, though I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. I did like Zorbak’s humor and his big screw-up, and the two easter eggs in the quest. (see my guide on the Fire War for info on how to get it.)

The only other release was the Doom Knight, which I will not be getting. I have a friend who will be getting it though, so I can still review it. But for now, that’s it.

This week, the Fire War quest change takes an interesting turn as you play as Xan and try to get some help from Zorbak to kill Drakonnan. This isn’t as easy as it seems, since there are loads of skeletal minions in your way. Additionally, DA holders can train Stewie the Gryphon to fly sky high. However, you take a wrong turn and end up in a walk on the clouds! While was definitely an improvement from the last release, it could have been better. Read on for more details.

Xan Has a Plan
In this quest, you’ll play as Xan and tackle through the hoards of skeletal beings to find Zorbak. This is an interesting twist in the plot, since Xan is still sort of a bad guy. The only problem is that the quest was way too easy, since you could just burn your way through the minions with Xan’s power. I hated this release, since, as I said, it was too easy, and there were no in-quest twists like the last one. Also, my pet, and my party members fought with Xan when I did the mission, which is definitely not supposed to happen (Artix and Xan working together?). While it might have been hard for some of the lower levels, who don’t have the Fire abilities, the healing pads completely threw away any difficulty that the quest could have given. Score: 6/10

Gryphon Training
In Gryphon Training, you get to train little Stewie how to fly sky high. Of course, it’s not that easy. Stewie takes you up to the clouds, and then you will have to fight through the various monsters that live up there. I liked this quest because it was actually pretty hard. I had to constantly switch my weapons in order to keep up with the enemy’s weakest element, and I liked how AE combined monsters that are weak to each other (like Water Elemental and Fire Elemental) which made Multi attacks less effective. Also, the monsters did a lot of damage. AE could have made it harder, though. Score: 8.7/10

I wasn’t as disappointed with this release as the other ones that AE have been giving. Xan Has a Plan was just stupid, but the Gryphon Training was pretty good. AE needs to give the Fire War more effort in development than these other side-quests that no one cares about. Overall Score: 7.35

Since last week’s release wasn’t too pleasing, I was hoping that this week would be much better. Unfortunately, no luck. The new quest in the Fire War chain wasn’t super good, and the 8 quests around Lore were poorly implemented. The Atack on Drakonnan quest was an improvement from the last, with real characters being put in, and the path through the quest wasn’t a straight line. It also had a nice plot addition, which is always good. As for Valencia’s new quests, I wouldn’t say they were very good. The souvenirs should have shown up in my temp inventory, and not my clogged up main. Read on for more.

Attack on Drakonnan

Now with the last of the fire monsters in Battleon are dead, you can start to move on the offensive. This time, you go to one of Drakonnan’s bases and infiltrate it, finding that you are destroying your fellow heroes while inside. The beginning cutscene was excellent, with the arm reaching out to steal the Katana (why didn’t they put it in a metal box?) and the implementation of other characters was great as well. However, they could have shown the actual character while I walk-around mode, instead of those weird statues. The Necropolis quest chain had some pretty cool stuff going on, so I don’t see why this should be the same ol’ traditional battle. Score: 80%

Around Lore in Eight Quests

When I saw this quest on the homepage, I thought, “this would be fun!” but I hated it. There was no timer, and all you did was walk around the same boring quest with different scenery each time, and then get the souvenir reward in your main inventory. That was a terrible idea. This quest had a lot of potential, but it was all thrown down the drain. I didn’t like how the souvenirs showed up in my main inventory, which in my case only had one free space. Score: 73%

So, as you can see, I wasn’t too happy with this release. I really hate to start off my release analysis writing with some really bad updates. Maybe they’re working on a super-awesome release (hopefully guilds) and they have to do these bad releases to save time. Most of my complaints can actually be fixed, but AE normally doesn’t change things once they’ve added it. Average Score: 76.5%

This is my first release analysis. I’m going to try and make one of these each week with each DF release. So here we go:

In Battleon Burns, you’ll find out that the Plasma Dragon attack was a distraction, and that Drakonnan is now attacking the newly founded city Battleon. In this release, the original Fire War is replaced with the Battleon Burns war, and a new war meter replaces the old one. Along with the new war (which wasn’t such a good release), there is an associating quest with the same name. In addition, the Colorless quest chain concludes with a pretty boring and predictable ending. Read on for more info.

The main release, the Battleon Burns quest, wasn’t very great in my opinion. The quest didn’t have much of a plot, and it seemed like just a filler quest where AE lays out a bunch of monsters and a boss w/ dialogue. They also recycled the old icy scenery and monsters, which doesn’t add to the excitement. Some of the attacks that the boss used were from Itzoz (the Ice Guardian) and the dialogue was short and boring (the whole point of bosses is to associate them with a long, boring speech. Ever played LoZ: Twilight Princess?). Score: 79.37%

The war itself wasn’t much of a success for me either. AE threw in a war meter, fire monsters and some old forest scenery for a boring war. The party members were a nice addition, but they weren’t enough to change my opinion on the release. Score: 76%

The Colorless quest chain wasn’t much of a win for me either. It was much better than the Battleon Burns quest, but I was expecting some sort of twist that would expand the quest, or add to the quest chain. Even though they promised that it would be a conclusion, that could obviously be a joke seeing as there are only 3 quests (hey, the Bug War II in MQ was a joke, why not double-joke?). In a game like DF, stuff should go wrong. Maybe Robina turns green, or the tree trunks turn green. 3 quests is too easy for AE, but they get an A for effort for making two and a half releases. Score: 81.32%

So overall, I wouldn’t say this was such a good release. AE could have done a much better job with the quests. Ashenvale had a nice twist with the houses, and it just shows that AE can do a lot more with quests than it seems. Hopefully there will be a very good release next week, and this was just a filler to add more time. Overall Score: 78.9%

The Fire War has one of the most exciting storyline in all of Dragonfable. In this, you’ll have to fight off fire monsters and try to obtain the Fire Orb to keep it from moving into the wrong hands. While the quests may be easy for higher levels, the storyline itself is great.

A Plea for Help

You’ll start off with a conversation with Konnan, explaining how his town is being attacked by a fire dragon. He will then start crying and now you really know that he needs your help. Galanoth and his blood brother, Demento, will explain to you a bit of Akriloth, the Fire Dragon’s history. Then the quest will start.

If you want to be cheap and skip through the entire quest, move backwards at the beginning of the quest, away from the monsters. Say that you would like to leave, press “Run For Your Life!” and then you will get to the end cutscene . But you will miss important plot info, so I don’t recommend doing that.

The beginning should be fairly easy. The fire monsters are a piece of cake, so take them down and get to the end of the frame. In the second frame, you can skip the first monster by moving below it. You can also skip the Lavagoblin in the third frame.

After the third frame, Akriloth will give you a heads-up on his world domination plan, and then you’ll be prompted to summon your dragon.

Akriloth will then kill you (This is supposed to happen!)

Demento will tell you that he will search for a fire weapon, while Konnan gets pissed off at you and looks for revenge. And guess who wants to help him?

North

This quest starts with a bunch of monsters in one frame. You should take them down with ease. If you are running low on health, click on the burning object in the corner for a one-time heal.

There is no particular order for killing the monsters in the frame. It is always okay to use a health potion in between battles, but first use the burning object. You cannot progress to the next part of the quest until you defeat all of the monsters.

The next frame is pretty much the same thing, but with less monsters. You can skip some monsters in this frame, so if you don’t need the extra exp, move ahead.

In the next frame, there is a huge gap in which you can skip a lot of monsters. You’ll have to kill at least one monster to move forward. Go for the Killy Willy and then move on.

Again, you can skip more monsters and go straight for another Killy Willy. Whether you skip them or not, it’s your choice. Your destination lies ahead, in one more frame.

Kill a Tusker, and then you’re done. Whew! The end cutscene is very interesting, so read through it.

The Guardian

Stick with your fire weapon, since there will be more ice monsters ahead.

Two snowballs should be no match for your power. Wipe them out and move on.

In the next frame, it is faster to move right rather than up into the sub-path. After you kill those monsters, move up into the next frame.

While the numbers here may seem overwhelming, you don’t necessarily have to fight all of them. If you followed the path I mentioned before, you only have two kill two of them by skimming along the right edge.

Move up, and you’ll find the Ice Guardian, Izotz. You’ll challenge him to a duel for the Icy Sythe. Here are some of my usual boss tips (for Necromancer):

Always start off with Final, then Summon. That combo is a good combo to lower his health fast.

If you’re low on health, use Turn and hope that he’ll do multi-attacks.

Seed is great on bosses with high amounts of health. Use it whenever you see fit.

Mend is very underrated. It does a decent amount of DOT, and heals you, too. I always recommend using this on bosses. It is not as effective against normal monsters though, since they die easily.

Izotz will get pissed off at you for killing him. He will shatter the Icy Sythe upon defeat, but that doesn’t mean your feat was worthless. Yulgar might be able to fix it.

You’ll see another cutscene. This one is Konnan’s training. After, you’ll be done and ready to take down Akriloth.

The Weapon

Yulgar will tell you how he can fix the sword with magical duct tape (just kidding!) and the scythe will be even more powerful than before.

Konnan will take his final test: the mass clicking test, a test all AQ players must master to get high levels. Play as Konnan and spam your clicks to eliminate all snowballs being thrown at you. It actually gets a bit hard near the end, but I’m sure you can click fast enough… right? And guess what Konnan has become… (and it’s all your fault too, because if you had failed the clicking test, he would have got pwnd by the snowballs )

East

This is probably one of the hardest quests you will ever face in DragonFable. It is so hard, I can’t even give a guide for it. All I can say is good luck.

Akriloth

This is it! Set your dragon’s element to Ice (do NOT choose water), and take out any party members (your pet dragon does not count). Party members add to Akriloth’s strength, so fight solo.

Akriloth has insane health, but don’t let that discourage you. If your toddler dragon dies, just re-summon him

Akriloth has a “Warmth” effect that heals him. However, his 250% weakness to health should allow you to get some damage anyways.

Seed is so important here. Use it whenever possible. Summon is also a good idea.

If he does a super-breath attack, follow it up with a Turn.

If you’re low on health, use a health potion of a turn.

You’ll see that his health will go down quickly. Then he will die. Whew!

Packing Up

This quest will start with an epic cutscene. I wont spoil it for you, but if you don’t watch it, you’re missing a huge part of the game.

The monsters shouldn’t be hard to kill. Ue Final on all of them and you should be fine. The quest gets hard when you get to the dragons, where Galanoth truly shines. Use Kick on them for some extra damage.

Final+Summon is generally a good starting combo against the dragons, just like bosses. If the dragon uses the mega breath, you’re in danger, and that means Turn and/or Health Potion.

There is no boss. At the end, Galanoth will find out what happened to Demento.

Ashenvale

This quest is a bit confusing. You don’t have to kill very many monsters for it, though. The objective is to walk into each house and clear it of monsters. Since there are a lot of paths to choose from, I’ll post a map of the quest so you know where the houses are:

The red squares represent frames with houses, S and E mean Start and End, and the green line means you can move between those frames. I know the map is sloppy, but I’m sure it can get the job done, right?

Before you can beat the quest, you must “clear” all of the houses. So you have to go into the house, kill the monster, move up to the people in the house, and then when it says “Quick, lets get out of here!,” you can exit the house and move to another one.

The magic beer at the beginning is a one-time full heal. If you click on it, it will immediately heal you without warning, so don’t click on it unless you need to!

Eastern Hills

The first thing you’ll notice about this quest is that you got some new party members. While they are random each time, they normally have high-levels. You can even see their character ID and all of their info if you click on their name.

The monsters that you fight will seem very powerful, but you have powerful allies. They will do a lot of damage, and should make this quest very easy.

Always use Final against the monster (with ALL of your party members) to start off, and then use whatever abilities you see fit. Since the classes of those people are random, it’s hard for me to give good advice. If you’re not sure about an ability, I probably have a guide for that class (search the blog).

As you progress through the quest, you may notice your party members disappearing. This is part of the quest, and is supposed to happen.

Battleon Burns

If you want some good party members, go to the war and invite the people, then press Quest! That should make things easy for you. Remember to click on each Ice Crystal to get it.

If you used the party member trick above (or even if your didn’t), the quest should be pretty easy. Go all out power by using Final a lot.

The boss for this quest is Jorhath, who is skeptical of Drakonnan’s conquest. So of course, you have to kill him.

He isn’t very good, but one of his attacks does a boatload of damage. After he does it, use Turn to regain your health (or a potion).

Another flaw is that he has no resistance to Ice, making him vulnerable to Dominate, so it might be a good idea to do that as well.

The real boss (in the War) is General Varax (Party members will add to his strength!). He is pretty good, but he has some weaknesses. When you select your weapons, remember to use s WATER weapon, not Ice, as he has no weakness to ice.

Another weakness is that he has little resistance to Fire, his own element. That makes him vulnerable to Dominate.

If you’re low on health, you might want to use Turn or drink a health potion.

Attack on Drakonnan!

With the last of Drakonnan’s forces defeated, it’s time go on the offensive. You’ll start by blindly walking into a cave.

The glowing rock is a one-time full heal. Do NOT click on it unless you are on very low health.

The first monsters you’ll encounter are two Fire Mantixes. Wipe them out to progress furher into the cave.

You’ll enter a large room with red statues in them. When you fight the statues (they’re monsters), you’ll notice that you’re actually fighting your fellow heroes!

The place is symmetrical, so it doesn’t matter which was you go.

When you fight the heroes, you should remember that it is liking fighting in a PvP battle; they can use health potions and have their own special abilities. They can also put you to sleep, so stun them before they stun you!

You might be able to skip some battles while doing this quest. try to go sharp around each corner and you might get lucky.

If you’re going to use potions, try to use them in-between battles instead of in-battle. They take up a valuable turn that you could use. For instance, a stun is a good way to replace a health potion. Use your abilities wisely!

Near the end of the quest, you might need a full heal. Luckily for you, there is one at the beginning of the quest (remember?). However, there is another one if you are able to move a bit further.

Once you beat the two guards at the end of the large room (frame 2), the room after that is a bit buggy. You can sort of go around the statue, and into the room on the right, which has another magic rock (or go upwards, straight to the boss). If you want it, you don’t have to battle the monsters in there. Just click on the rock, and then run back.

The boss is up one frame. Unfortunately, you’ll have to kill two more heroes to progress.

The boss is the Shadowfire Knight. While he is a Fire monster, his true weakness is Light damage, Equip the light weapon of your choice, and prepare to fight!

He should be extremely easy to kill. Once he’s dead, watch the interesting cutscene and then… whew! You’re done.

Help?

You’ll get to play as Xan in this quest. Since the map is randomized, it might be a bit hard for me to help here. Luckily, Xan is an insane pyromancer, and he should be able to kill everyone. You need to be a certain level to get the abilities, I’m not entirely sure of the criteria for this, though.

Final Battle

Well, it’s time for the final battle. During the first cutscene at the beginning, click on Cysero’s head while he says, “I have this sponge” for the first Easter egg.

The next Easter egg comes later in the quest. Finish watching the cutscene, and then move right at the start of the quest. After you kill the Fire Eater, the Lava Glob in the next frame can be skipped; move on to the Magman.

The next frame has two passageways guarded by two monsters. Since you need the Ice Katana, go for the path on the left. (Rescuing the prisoners is completely optional, if you want to, you can also take the right path.

The Ice Katana looks like it’s being guarded by two Fire Mantixes, but you only have o kill one to get the Katana. Unfortunately, it shows up in your temp inventory, not your main.

Back in the main room, go left this time and then go up. In that frame, take the left passageway, and keep moving left until you find the Fire Orb. However, you need two Fire Orbs to get to the Drakonnan’s Lair (this reminds me of Francis’s lair in SPM, where you need two keys and there are two ways to go).

After you get the Orb, go back two frames and then keep going up until you get to the next Fire Orb.

Once you have both fire Orbs, go back to the main room and then go up into his lair.

In this cutscene, when Zorbak says “How do I look?”, click on Artix’s head for another Easter Egg.

When the cutscene is done, you get to face Drakonnan. He wasn’t much of a threat to me, but I’ve heard that he might have been hard to some other people. During the battle, he will talk, and putting him to sleep will only delay his speech until the immobility is done; it will not stop him.

Unlike most bosses, it isn’t always a good idea to go all-out power on him. He has a shield that gives him +50 block, so when he does that, activate a move that doesn’t have an attack, like Seed. Check his status if you want to see if he’s using the shield or not.

The next battle is a titan fight. You don’t jhave to do it, clicking “Let a DragonLord Handle It!” will automatically kill him, and you’ll see what happens afterward. And then you’re done.

The Ranger class is one of the best classes in DragonFable. It is great to use before Necromancer and Deathknight are available, and is incredibly easy to get. Ranger focuses mainly on strategic abilities rather than superior strength.

I think he's holding his sword the wrong way.

Where to get: Zhoom at The Sandsea after completing The Hard Way.

The Skills:

Shield: +80 block for 2 turns (Mana: 5, Cooldown: 4, Duration: 2)
You know what this does, right?

Poison Arrow: 6-12 Poison Damage Over 10 Turns (Mana: 5, Cooldown: 5, Duration: 10)
This will poison the enemy with 6-12 poison DoT. The two advantages of this ability that make it better than most is 1) It lasts for 10 turns and 2)The initial attack does full damage.

Stunning Shot – Stuns for 3 rounds (Mana: 20, Cooldown: 19, Duration: 3)
This will stun your opponent for three turns, making it unable to attack.

MultiShot – Hits all enemies (Mana: 10, Cooldown: 5, Duration: N/A)
It will hit all enemies you’re fighting. No boosts, no nerfs, just normal hits.

Accurate Shot: +100 to hit (Mana: 10, Cooldown: 0, Duration: N/A)
When you use this, the attack is guaranteed not to miss. The only problem is that your opponent can always block or parry your attack, so it may not be worth it. It only costs 10MP to cost though, so why not use it?

Summon Hawk – Got Hawk Eggs? (Mana: 10, Cooldown: 0, Duration: N/A)
This does two hits of 65% damage, totaling 130% damage overall. To use this, you’ll need to complete the Hudson’s Hawk quest in the Become a Ranger! section. This is also only available when you have done a successful attack first.

Stat Shot – Lowers mob’s Str, Dex, Int by 2 for 2 turns (Mana: 5, Cooldown: 0, Duration: N/A)
This will lower those stats from your opponents. This isn’t very good, since most enemies have all of their stat values set to zero. Before doing this, I’d recommend checking your opponents stat values before doing this.

FlashBang: -70 hit for 2 turns (Mana: 10, Cooldown: 10, Duration: 2)
This will give your opponent a 70% chance of missing their attack for two turns. Again, its initial attack does normal damage. Use this after a Debilitating Arrow for a nice combo.

Dual Wield – Available after a successful Attack (Mana: 0, Cooldown: 2, Duration: N/A)
This does two hits that each to 80% damage. This is better than Summon Hawk, but this one is also member-only while Summon Hawk is not.

Cooldown Shot: -3 to all cooldowns (Mana: 20, Cooldown: 9, Duration: N/A)
This is extremely useful. It will take the cooldowns of all of your previously used abilities, and then make them as if 3 turns have gone by. This does not shoot its own cooldown, and does not shoot the cooldown of your party members. It also does an attack with full damage.

Debilitating Arrow – Enemy does -30% damage for 3 turns (Mana: 10, Cooldown: 4, Duration: 3)
Your enemy now only does 70% damage, but only lasts for 3 turns. This is also an attack.

Weakness Seeking – Weakness Seaking (Mana: 10, Cooldown: 2, Duration: N/A)
This is a handy ability that you can use if you don’t have a weapon of a certain element that is weak against a monster. It will take the monsters weakest element (you can see what this is in the “Resistances and Status” area of your opponents info) and then change the element of your weapon to that element, but only for that attack. A good tactic is to switch to your most powerful weapon (unless you’re already using it) and then use Weakness Seeking with it for maximum damage.

Flurry: 5 Shots, Hit Random Enemies (Mana: 20, Cooldown: 2, Duration: N/A)
This will shoot 5 shots of 40% damage and randomly hit enemies on the field. If you’re only fighting one enemy at time, all of the shots will be directed at that enemy, doing a total of 200% damage.

Purge – Rangers FTW! (Mana: 20, Cooldown: 14, Duration: N/A)
This will do 2 hits of 60% damage, but you will always get a crit from them, so it’s actually 2 hits of 120% damage, with a grand total of 240% damage!

In The Sandsea, a harsh leadership dynasty known as the Sek-Duats rule the land. Sek Duat XV was so mean and cruel that a rebellion started. Upon going to The Sandsea, you meet one of the rebels, who begs for you to join the rebels and overthrow the Sek Duats’ leadership in return for the location of the Light Orb. Zhoom, a mercenary of Sek Duat who hunts down these rebels encounters you during the conversation, but is praising you for “distracting” the rebel. Now your only hope of having future communications with the rebels is to work with Zhoom, a risky maneuver.

The Hard Way

Upon talking to Zhoom again, he mentions a rebel by the name of Kasuf. Zhoom needs you to capture him and bring him back alive. Since Kasuf has been constantly been able to escape Zhoom’s grasp, he’s hoping that you can find him.

Now for the guide. Since the Scar Scarabs have no weakness, take out your most powerful weapon and attack them with that.

In the next frame, you’ll encounter a Sunspike, which is heavily resistant to Light. If you’re currently using a Light weapon, don’t forget to swap it out for a new one. In addition, don’t forget to avoid using Artix’s holy attack on him, since it will do 0 damage.

After that frame, there will be another Sunspike. Do the same thing as the last Sunspike, and follow the same rules for attacking it as above.

Moving up, you’ll see a shining pot. Go up to it to start a conversation with the rebel, Kasuf. You need to escape with him, but Zhoom is the only person who knows the way out, and you can’t show Kasuf to him. You suggest for him to go in your backpack, but Kasuf knows of an alternate route. Of course, it’s guarded by monsters, and there is a door with a puzzle on it.

Moving on. Your next enemy, the Sandslicer, is resistant to Nature, and does is capable of dealing a lot of damage. Most people probably don’t have any Nature weapons, but if you do, swap out again. It is additionally resistant to Poison, so don’t try poisoning it. After, killing the Star Scarab to move on to the next frame.

After killing the Sunspike, you’ll have to solve a puzzle with glyphs and scarabs. If you click on a glyph, a scarab will light up. If it doesn’t light up, you got it wrong. You have to guess each glyph, and if you get one wrong, you start over. So if you choose Glyph A and Glyph B, correctly, but then if Glyph C is wrong, you start over, but you still know that the first two glyphs are A and B. Keep trying each glyph. If the timer runs out and you fall for the trap, the combination will be reset.

When entering the next frame, you will be up against two Scar Scarabs. but the one in the upper-right can be avoided.

After a coupe frames, you’ll find another glyph puzzle. Follow the same rules as last time to get through.

Keep moving on through the quest. There wont be any new elements that weren’t described above, so getting through should be a piece of cake.

Apparently, Kasuf doesn’t know much about the Light Orb, but he knows of a woman who does. To find her, you’ll need to visit the inn with a Blue Lotus.

Additionally, you now have access to the Ranger armor! This is great for killing the Gate Keeper at the Necropolis, and is my second-favorite armor next to Necromancer.

The Blue Lotus

Don’t set your dragon’s element to Stone or Wind, or else it will heal some of the monsters that you fight.

You’ll start off your journey into the desert by fighting a Sandstorm. Use a Stone weapon to take it down.

If you used a stone weapon, don’t forget to switch to a Wind weapon, because now you’ll be fighting a boulder elemental.

You’ll need to keep switching weapons throughout the quest, so be weary of what weapons that you’re using.

I’ve found that the fastest way through the desert is to go (from the initial starting point) left two times, then up 3.

The Oasis Inn

Now that you have the Blue Lotus, it’s time to go inside the Oasis Inn so you can speak to this mysterious woman. Note that simply going into the inn will not work, you have to talk to Zhoom and select it from the Quest list to speak with the woman.

You’ll learn that Sha-Rae is Kasuf’s daughter, and that the Light Orb could be being used by Sek Duat to rule the Sandsea.

I wont give any other spoilers, but since you’re probably at the quest right now, you should know a lot by the end.

On the way back, you’ll have to kill some desert thugs. While their large amounts of health may be deceiving, they don’t do very much damage, so you shouldn’t have much trouble with them.

Now, be prepared to go up against the Mumragon.

Dynasty Tomb

Before starting the quest, remove ALL members of your party. It is OK to keep pets, but unfortunately, you have to get rid of your party members. If you’ve come here trying the figure out how to kill the Mumragon, know that your party members add to health and his general strength. If you need to get rid of your toddler dragon, you have to go back to your character list.

I strongly recommend using Necromancer for this boss. The Turn ability is perfect against hard-hitting opponents, and the Final ability is perfect for killing the Scar Scarabs at the beginning. Also, make sure to NOT use Paladin on this boss, since he has a heavy resistance to Light damage, and even though you can change your weapon’s element, some of the Paladin’s abilities are always Light damage.

Skim along the bottom path for the easiest route through the Star Scarabs. While they all have 3 in each row, using the bottom means you probably wont accidentally hit a Star Scarab on a neighboring row.

In the next frame, I recommend using Turn on the Star Scarabs to regain some of your lost health from the previous wave. (Don’t worry, after this you’ll get a free heal, so try not to waste your potions).

While it may be tempting to add friends, DON’T (unless you know two people who are incredibly good with a good SAVED setup (don’t invite non-DragonLords, as they can’t save their setup). Of course, it will still be pretty hard even if you invite someone, so I recommend going solo.

Time to take out your Doom weapon, since this guy is weak to Darkness.

Use Final, Summon, then Seed to start up your tactics. Remember to always use Turn if you’re on low health, or use a potion if you’re really desperate.

Mend is also a good choice to use against him. If you’re on low health and you don’t have a defensive maneuver available, use a health potion.

Remember to always replace a normal attack with a Summon whenever you can to maximize your damage

Congratulations! You have beat one of the hardest bosses in DragonFable! Can you tackle him in Extreme mode?

Sek Duat’s Invite

Killing the Mumragon has successfully given you an invitation to Sek Duat’s palace, just like Sha-Rae told you it would. Zhoom informs you of this and tells you to go up to the palace to see what Sek Duat has to say.

From the main frame of the Sandsea, keep going up until you get to Sek Duat himself.

These next three quests are only accessible from Sek Duat’s palace.

The Sandwitch

Apparently, a strange witch known as the Sandwitch is causing fear for the people of the Sandsea. Sek Duat needs you to eliminate the Sandwitch to soothe the fears of the people.

You’ll start the quest with a direct challenge to fight from the Sandwitch. Take out a Water weapon and kill her to move on to the next frame.

Enter the next frame to find… surprise! Another Sandwitch. Kill her again, then go to the next frame once more.

Kill the third Sandwitch again to progress to the next frame, which supposedly has the real Sandwitch.

Through the conversation, you’ll find out more about Sek Duat’s plans, and with that information, you decide to let the Sandwitch live.

The Traitor

Sek Duat mentions to you of a rebel who wishes to go against the Resistance and serve Sek Duat. Sek Duat wants you to find this person and bring him to the palace immediately.

Start off by killing the Sandstorm, then move on.

Kill the next Sandstorm, then progress to the next frame.

Surprise! Another Sandstorm. Kill it.

In the next frame you’ll find a completely new, never-before-seen monster: a Sandstorm! Kill it.

Two more Sandstorms. Kill them to move on.

You’ll see another Sandstorm, but with a figure behind it. Kill the Sandstorm so you can speak with him.

After the conversation, you’ll be up against the Anubis Knight. It’s main weakness is Silver, but if you don’t have a Silver weapon, Darkness will work too.

Anubis isn’t a very hard boss, and you should kill him easily. Just remember to use Health Potions (or Turn) whenever you are on low health. Also remember not to use Paladin, because (just like on the Mumragon) most of the abilities always do Light damage, which means it will have no effect on the Anubis Knight.

Remember not to use Holy on Anubis, since it wont do any damage.

Anubis can use a shield, and you’ll know when he does this when he puts his fist up in the air and doesn’t attack. When he does this, so should you, since the shield gives him +80 block.

Zhowdown

You’ll have to start out immediately by fighting Zhoom. You’ll lose any party members that you already have, but if you have a toddler dragon, it will stay.

Water is Zhoom’s weak point, so make sure to use just that element against him. He is also strangely resistant to Bacon, but that shouldn’t matter.

Zhoom doesn’t have a load of health, but he is capable of doing quite some damage. If you’re using Necromancer and you’re low on health, Turn is always a great choice to use. It might not be worth it to use Seed (since it should be a quick battle), but it wont hurt to use it.

After he’s down, you’ll see that there is much more to this quest than it seems. If you move to the left, and then up, you’ll have access to a potion box. When you get there, drink up your potions, then refill them back up for a free heal. You can come back up anytime, so think of it as a healing pad.

After you get to the potions box, go back to the starting point and then go in the other direction. Follow up the path and you will find Zhoom again. Use the one-time heal (AKA the glowing pot) and then fight him once more. His weaknesses and resistances are the same as last time, so just follow the same tips as before and you should be fine.

After you kill him, continue to progress through the quest, destroying any monster in your way. Remember that you can always access the potion box for a free heal whenever you need to.

You’ll need to fight Zhoom again, but this time there wont be a one-time heal right next to him. If you think you need to have full health and mana to defeat him, go back the potion box to heal.

At the very end, you’ll have to fight the Sphinxster. Since Zhoom is angry that he’s not getting his payment, he agrees to help the rebels and also help you defeat the Sphinxster.

The Sphinxster shouldn’t be much of a threat. Just remember to use Turn or a potion whenever you can, and always try to go on offensive when you can.

Zhoom’s Pet isn’t very good, but the Fire Arrow is great since it costs no mana, therefore you should always use that instead of the normal Attack. Since the Sphinxster has a resistance to light, don’t use his Light Arrow.

Sek Duat Lives Again

Start off by killing the Sunspikes guarding the entrance to Sek Duat’s throne.

His throne is a secret entrance! Go inside to find yourself against a slightly less-powerful version of the Anubis Knight.

There are two more Anubis Knights in the next frame. Kill them to move on. If you’re already on low health after one of the battles, you can always access your potions from your inventory without having to use them in battle.

Since there are a lot of Anubis Knights that you’ll have to kill, it might be a good idea to use Turn, even though they are relatively weak units.

Eventually you will encounter Sek Duat, and he will give you the choice: to join him and gain eternal life, or just kill him. If you agree, it will give you an interesting story about what happens afterward (choose it just for the heck of it) and then you will be given the same choice immediately after.

Now kill him. This time, your party members wont add to his strength, so get as many as you can.

Sek Duat can attack your party members, so if you don’t care about them, let them die, but if you desperately need them, don’t forget that they have health potions too!

He is weak to Darkness, so take out your Doom weapon (or whatever Darkness weapon you use) and fight him.

It is generally a good idea to use Seed in this battle because he has so much health, and because it will probably be a long battle anyways.

Death From Below

No quest chain is complete without a titan fight. You’ll be up against the Dunelord for this battle. Set your Dragon’s element as Fire or Darkness.

Start off by making your way through the zombies. To conserve Mana, just use the normal attack on them; you should easily kill them in one hit.

Sorry, but I don’t have a guide for him… yet. For general dragon strategies, see the Dragon Operations Manual.

It’s been a long time since I wrote a guide… but here’s how to beat the first Ash Dragonblade quest! However, the quest is so easy, you shouldn’t need this guide at all.

You’ll start off in a mysterious wood. Grab the coin bag for a free 10 gold. Then move on.

Your first enemy: Deadwood. You should kill him in up to 3 hits.

After moving up one frame, move left towards the rock. It might… be special.

After learning that skeletons cannot talk and do not eat brains, kill them to win a shiny new blade: the Skull Sword

After obtaining the sword, move right and kill the Deadwood to go further.

If you’re on serious low health, take the mushroom on the top of the frame, but note that it is a one-time usage, so once you use it, it’s gone forever (unless, of course, you replay the quest after beating it!)

Go to the next frame and watch the Necromancer give his punishment to an undead skeleton. This only makes things easier for you.

After killing the guards, you’ll have access to a Healing Pad. Take full advantage of this, and then kill the two Deadwoods guarding the door.

In this room, start off by killing the Skelecaster and then go for the skeletons. If you move down one frame, you can still access the healing pad.

After killing the Skelecaster, kill the Bone Fire on the left side to acccess a storage closet containing a Dispell Orb. One down, one more to go.

Kill the Skeleton on the right, and grab the treasure chest in the next frame for 50 extra gold. Then, fall through a trap in the floor to fall in a room with… another Dispell Orb! Grab it, then kill the Giant spider to move on.

Now go through the top door by killing the Shoulder Blades guarding it.

Killing the Necromancer should be a piece of cake. Since you should be Level 3 by the time you fight him, use Defend, Attack, Stab, Rush, and then Attack for the rest of the time until he’s dead.

Upon reaching Falconreach, talk to Artix for a free heal.

You’ve finished! If you want to move straight through the storyline, move down, left, and then talk to Warlic to find the next part of your adventure.

Are you not sure how to use your super-special-awesome dragon? Are you still stumped on how to beat Gorgok? Well, you’ve found the perfect place, the Dragon Guide! (Formerly Dragon Operatios Manual)

...and you thought Togzilla was hard! Well, you ain't seen nothin' yet!

OK, I guess we’ll start with the mad skillz a dragon has.

Scale – +80 Melee and Range Defense for 2 turns
The old classic. If this is your only available ability for fighting Togzilla, use it EVERY TIME POSSIBLE or you will still lose.

Breath – 120% Damage (Mana: 0, Cooldown: 0, Duration: N/A)
Indeed. Only available after a successful hit. This costs NO MANA, so ALWAYS replace it with Attack whenever possible.

Roar – 50% chance to stun for 2 turns (Mana: 750, Cooldown: 4, Duration: 2)
This attacks your opponent, and has a 50% chance of stunning your opponent. If the initial roll for stun is successful, your opponent might be able to resist it, depending on its “immobility” stat its stat screen. Otherwise, it will stun your opponent. This is good to start off a battle with the Kaijoos (in training).

Rend – 50% Dmg. 30% dmg for 3 turns (Mana: 250, Cooldown: 2, Duration: 3)
This does 50% damage for the initial attack, and the does 45% DOT for 3 turns.

Regen - Regens 25% (Mana: 0, Cooldown: 9, Duration: N/A)
This will restore 25% of your max MP.

Bite – 50% Dmg. -20% [Your Dragon's Element] +10 Boost to enemy (Mana: 500, Cooldown: 0, Duration: 5)
The initial attack does 50% damage, your opponent loses 20% resistance to your dragon’s element, and your opponent gets a +10 boost. Lasts for 5 turns.

DragonEye – Unmissable: +100 to hit (Mana: 10, Coodldown: 4, Duration: N/A)
When you use this, the attack cannot miss, but remember that your opponent can always block or parry you!

Pierce – 125% Dmg. -10 Boost to enemy for 5 turns (Mana: 1000, Cooldown: 9, Duration: N/A)
Much better than Breath, but it costs Mana. Anyways, it does exactly what it says: You do 125% damage, and your opponent loses 10 to boost. Use this after Bite and your opponent gets -20% to your element without any boost!

Coil – 10% heal with chance of Crit Heal (Mana: 2500, Cooldown: 4, Duration: N/A)
This will heal 10% of your max health, but you also have a chance of a critical, which is double the heal!

Daze – 20% Dmg: -40 hit for enemy, 5 turns (Mana: 2000, Cooldown: 10, Duration: 5)
On the initial attack, you do 20% damage, and then your enemy loses 40 to hit for 5 turns.

Strike – +35 crit for 3 turns, only available after a miss (Mana: 1500, Cooldown: 0, Duration: N/A)
If you miss prior to this attack, you can use this to give you a +35 crit bonus. The ability itself is NOT an attack.

Burn – 100% Dmg. 15% dmg for 4 turns (Mana: 1000, Cooldown: 0, Duration: 4)
The initial attack does full damage, and then your enemy will get 15% DOT for 4 turns. This also allows you to use MegaBurn.

Frenzy – Ultimate Mega Attack (Mana: 1000, Cooldown: 0, Duration: N/A)
Three hits of full damage. Requires health below 20%

MegaBurn – Multi Breath Attack (Mana: 1500, Cooldown: 1, Duration: N/A)
2 hits of full damage with your dragon’s normal element.

OK, then, now that you know how to use the Dragon, and you know your strengths, here are some useful techniques you might want to use:

The Burn>MegaBurn Technique

Now, if you notice your foe is vulnerable to two attacks, and is stupid enough not to defend itself, then use the Burn>MegaBurn technique. Basically, you use the Burn ability, then you use the MegaBurn right after it. Here’s a little sample video to show you what it’s like:

The Healing Technique

Just like the Burn>MegaBurn technique, this one is important. When your opponent has about 7000-8500 health, use this combo to catch up with your own health.

OK, then. That’s basically all you need to know about dragons. Note that Godzilla is extremely hard to kill with your level 0 dragon, but is possible (you just have to get really lucky)
